State, U.S. flags will be lowered Saturday

Governor Jay Inslee has directed that Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, Nov. 22 in memory of Washington State Representative Roger Freeman, who passed away on Oct. 29.

The Governor’s Office will allow agencies to lower flags at the close of business on Friday, Nov. 21. Flags should remain at half-staff until the end of the day Saturday or first thing Monday morning, Nov. 24. 

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.

A celebration of life event in honor of Rep. Freeman’s life and service to the citizens of the State of Washington will also be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Our Savior’s Baptist Church, 701 S. 320th Street, Federal Way, Washington.
