The next edition of “Council Connection,” the cable television program featuring Spokane City Council members as hosts, will be shown live, on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. on CityCable 5. Council Member Amber Waldref, District 1, will host the program titled, “Planning for our Future”.
Council Member Waldref will explore ways Spokane is focusing public investment in mixed-use neighborhoods like East Sprague in order to reduce crime, increase housing options, support small business, and encourage private investment.
“Quality investment in our City’s mixed-use Centers and Corridors will increase the livability of our neighborhoods, support local business development and help our city grow and prosper,” says Council Member Waldref.
The show will feature guests E.J. Iannelli, chair of the Emerson Garfield Neighborhood, Jennifer Hansen of the Spokane Regional Health District’s Neighborhoods Matter project, and Spokane City planners Boris Borisov and Teri Stripes. Guests will discuss the progress of the Targeted Investment Project along the East Sprague Corridor, efforts to update Centers and Corridors Design Guidelines, as well as future investments in other corridors such as North Monroe.
Council Member Waldref will accept calls from viewers during the program; the phone number to reach the show is 625.6337.
“Council Connection” is shown live on the first Wednesday of the month and is replayed throughout the month. CityCable 5 is the City of Spokane’s government-access cable station; it’s found on channel 5 on the Comcast cable system in Spokane.
