At a community meeting Wednesday, community members in the Hillyard area will get a chance to offer suggestions about ongoing efforts to revitalize THE YARD in Northeast Spokane. Wednesday is the first in a series of community meetings to familiarize residents with grant projects in the area and to gather feedback from the public.

The City of Spokane, The Northeast Public Development Authority (NEPDA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are partnering with local businesses and community members to revitalize the Hillyard Industrial Area, known as THE YARD.

The City was recently selected as the recipient of two EPA grants to assist in the revitalization of the area. There will be three joint Area Wide Planning (AWP) and Community Wide Assessment (CWA) public meetings regarding the grants, starting with Wednesday’s community meeting.
