Spokane Mayor David Condon has directed that United States and Washington State flags at all City facilities be lowered to half-staff on Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day.

Memorial Day, which is observed on the last Monday of May, commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service.  In observance of Memorial Day, the United States flag should fly at half-staff from sunrise until noon, and then be raised to full height from noon to sundown.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
