Spokane Mayor David Condon issued the following statement about the Air Force announcement that Fairchild Air Force Base was not selected as a finalist for the KC-46A tanker:
“We are disappointed by the decision, but remain firm believers in the assets at Fairchild Air Force Base and their importance to the Air Force’s long-term strategy. Our support for Fairchild and its mission is unwavering, even as a potential center of excellence for the 135s.”
