With colder daytime temperatures in the forecast this week, the following service changes to warming centers are in place and effective, Monday-Thursday, Feb. 4 – 7. The two Warming Center sites listed below will offer daytime service in addition to the regular nighttime hours:

  • The Cannon Center at 527 S. Cannon will be open during daytime hours, with brief closures for cleaning in the morning and evening.
  • The Ermina Center at 213 E. Ermina will have extended hours from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m.

A list of provider services and additional night warming centers are attached. Services are always in need of citizen support and donations. Citizens interested in helping are encouraged to consider donating to Give Real Change and Hope Works. Citizens can also take needed items to area providers.

In addition to supporting a Warming Centers program for the 2018-19 winter season, the City provides ongoing operational support to 14 emergency shelter and transitional housing projects and is actively working with community partners to advance the targeted-capacity shelter system.
