City of Spokane snow crews remain in winter maintenance operations, working seven days a week monitoring weather and street conditions. Snow crews are prepared to respond to conditions forecasted this week.

A Full-City plow was launched on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Because of the significant snowfall that day, crews focused on primary arterials until moving into the residential areas early Thursday morning. The Full-City plow covering 2,200 lane miles utilizing personnel from both streets and water and wastewater departments was completed Saturday. Here are some statistics from the recent effort:

  • 53 pieces of equipment activated
  • 370 tons of traction sand
  • 181,779 gallons of liquid deicer
  • 66 tons of granulated deicer

“We were able to respond to this challenging weather event because of the planning, training and teamwork from additional departments and achieve the fastest response for our community,” says Street Director, Clint Harris.

Snow crews continue to clean up areas that need additional work. Residents who note that their block was missed by plows can call 3-1-1 to report it.
