The Maple St. Bridge and TJ Meenach Drive construction projects will be impacting traffic in west Spokane. Crews are ahead of schedule with grinding off the top layer of the southbound lanes on the Maple St. Bridge deck and will be transitioning to the northbound lanes. The TJ Meenach Street, Siphon, and Stormwater Improvements project is making a major step toward completion.

Beginning, Saturday, Sept. 16, single-lane traffic in each direction will be open on TJ Meenach Dr. at Northwest Blvd.

The Maple St. Bridge project is expected to take approximately 10 weeks and is estimated to be completed in mid-November, if the weather holds. As often as possible work will be done in the overnight hours and on weekends to reduce traffic impacts. Traffic routes will change often throughout the project and the bridge will be fully closed intermittently at times. Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes, and when possible, avoid peak traffic times because of lane reductions and closures.

Ongoing Traffic Impacts:

This is a complex project, requiring several traffic plan changes. Drivers are encouraged to follow City of Spokane social media, access the weekly obstruction notice, and sign up for the Community Update weekly email and tune into local media to stay informed.
