The City is updating its Code of Ethics for the first time in a decade, and you can help. Public meetings are scheduled on Wednesday, Oct. 22 from noon-1 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 23 from 6-7 pm. Both will be held in the City Council Briefing Center, lower level of City Hall.

Spokane Mayor David Condon also discussed additional police transparency and accountability during his regular Monday media briefing. Today is an historic day in Spokane as the new independent Citizen Police Ombudsman Commission holds its first meeting from 5-7 p.m. in the briefing center.

The midpoint of the police body-worn camera pilot project is approaching. A public meeting to demonstrate the cameras to the community and take feedback on their use is scheduled for Oct. 30 at 5:30 p.m. in Cataldo Hall on the Gonzaga University campus.

Finally, a reminder that the Compost Fair and Fall Leaf Festival are this Saturday at Finch Arboretum, 3404 W. Woodland Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
