Neighbors in the Southgate area recently got a look at plans for a new bike trail along 44th Avenue. Work on the proposed trail will coincide with major work on Havana Street in 2015.
The trail at E. 44th Avenue would be built from Freya to Havana Street along with a redundant water main in that area. A major component of the Havana project next year includes the installation of a water main, so that redundant main at 44th has to go in to set up water access for neighbors while construction is going on.
The 12-foot, shared-use trail is meant to make the area more bike-friendly and improve east-west connectivity. If you have any comments, suggestions, or concerns don't hesitate to contact me at 509.625.7773 or jhappy@spokanecity.org, or leave your comments below.
