Remembering Pearl Harbor

The Spokane area is home to one of the last remaining active chapters of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. Their motto is one the nation will reflect upon Sunday in remembrance of the attacks on December 7, 1941: “Remember Pearl Harbor – Keep America Alert – Eternal Vigilance is the Price of Liberty.”

This Sunday, on National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, Governor Jay Inslee has directed that Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff. National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day was created by Congress in 1994 in honor of those Americans killed or injured as a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

If there is a flag outside your business or home, please join us as we remember the sacrifices made at Pearl Harbor and in the war that followed.
