Leaf Pickup Headed to Browne’s Addition

Fall leaf pickup is in full swing

Our crews will be heading to the Browne’s Addition neighborhood Tuesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 7 starting at 9 a.m. This neighborhood has a large amount of on street parking that will be required to move. Cars that are not removed from the street will be towed at the owner’s expense

Tuesday’s leaf pickup route will be the north/south streets between the area south of Riverside Avenue to north of 2nd Avenue/Sunset Boulevard, which includes the west of Maple Street to east of Coeur d’Alene Street

Wednesday’s leaf pickup route will be the east/west streets between the area south of Riverside Avenue to north of 2nd Avenue/Sunset Boulevard, which includes the west of Maple Street to east of Coeur d’Alene Street

City leaf pickup crews are working Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. trying to get done before snow fall. Leaf pickup is extremely important for the safety of our streets. Please continue clearing leaves from storm drains to help prevent water from pooling up onto the street. Clogged drains can lead to unsafe conditions. In the event of snow, leaf pickup will be postponed until weather allows

The Street Department only picks up leaves that naturally fall into the street. Leaves that fall into a yard are the property owner’s responsibility. Here are some options for the disposal of your leaves:

  • Leaves can be taken to the Waste to Energy facility or one of the solid waste transfer stations.
  • Compost leaves

Leaf pickup times vary for each neighborhood and can be found on the City’s Leaf Pickup page. Citizens can also call the Leaf Hotline, 509.625.CITY (509.625.2489) for information on the next day’s work areas. Leaf pickup updates are also shared via Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #SpokaneStreets.
