City Seeking Cultural Fund Grant Applications

The City of Spokane is pleased to announce the opportunity for non-profit organizations to apply for grant funding to support programs and events that honor and celebrate the rich diversity of the City’s cultural communities.

The City has allocated $50,000 and will consider proposals in every cultural discipline and from every area of the City of Spokane for services that take place within the City limits that are scheduled to be held between August 1, 2018 and July 31, 2019.

Funds will be awarded based on a competitive review by a panel of members of the Mayor’s Advisory Council on Multi-Cultural Affairs (MACMA) and representatives of the City’s elected officials.

The fundamental requirement for all proposals is that they represent a cultural activity of recognized quality that is free and accessible to the general public.  The following are examples only of the kinds of services that will be considered for funding however this list by no means represent the entire range of possible services:

  • Cultural festivals and celebrations;
  • Arts fairs;
  • Programs for culturally underrepresented populations;
  • Lecture-demonstrations and workshops with a cultural focus.

Application Guidelines and the Grant Application can be downloaded on our website. Completed applications must be submitted by 5:00pm on Friday, July 6, 2018by e-mail to: Gloria Ochoa-Bruck, Director of Multi-Cultural Affairs at gochoabruck@spokanecity.org or received by mail or hand delivered to:
