Preparing for autumn with My Spokane 311

All across Spokane the leaves are turning yellow, orange, and red as we transition into autumn. We would like to help you prep for the new season!

Make sure to sign up for our optional yard and food waste service that runs from March through November. Yard waste carts are perfect to dispose of your autumn leaves! The carts are emptied on the same day as garbage and curbside recycling carts. The material is composted at a local facility. The cost of the service is $16.33 a month, with no charge when the service is suspended for winter.

Solid Waste Services would like to remind you not to put leaves in plastic bags inside or next to the green yard waste carts. Yard waste carts with plastic bags are billed as regular garbage. Paper lawn and leaf bags can be purchased online or at most local home improvement stores.

You can sign up for our yard waste service online using your MySpokane311.org account under Household Services. In addition, My Spokane users can report a missed collection and suspend services for a vacation longer than two weeks all ONLINE! Citizens can also make changes to their solid waste service using 311 chat, in person at the My Spokane 311 desk, and of course by calling 3-1-1.

The My Spokane 311 team is working hard to provide knowledgeable, friendly, and quality service with one call, one click, or one visit!
