For-hire licensing is going virtual!

The City of Spokane offers three for-hire licenses

  • “For-Hire Driver” is any driver who is affiliated with a Transportation Network Company (TNC) or taxi company. Popular examples of TNCs include Uber and Lyft.
  • “For-Hire Operator” is an entity or individual, such as taxi operators and transportation network companies, which affiliate with for-hire drivers to provide for-hire transportation services.
  • “For-Hire Vehicle” is any vehicle used for the transportation of passengers for compensation upon the streets of the City of Spokane.

You will soon be able to apply or renew your license and pay the registration fee all online. We are excited to provide a convenient and faster process for our customers!

In the meantime, for-hire driver, for-hire operator, and for-hire vehicle license applications are being accepted for new applicants via mail, email or the City Hall drop box.

Mail: Taxes & Licenses Dept., 808 W Spokane Falls Blvd, Spokane, WA 99201
