Forty-five minutes of free Wi-Fi access per customer will be available daily in Riverfront Park beginning next week, before Hoopfest.

Riverfront Park staff has been working with broadband wireless Internet service provider Ptera for the past year to implement Wi-Fi connections that provide free access for 45-minutes a day, with the ability to purchase additional time online.

The project is being implemented to provide another reason for people to come to Riverfront Park as staff works to enhance customers’ experiences in the park.

Ptera, a Spokane broadband wireless Internet service provider (WISP), was the successful bidder on the project which will be completed in two phases.

The initial coverage area will be a triangle from City Hall to the near corner of the INB Performing Arts Center, to the U.S. Pavilion. That area includes the entire south side of the Park, the Pavilion and the Clocktower meadow. Only outdoor locations will be covered.
