Icy Weather Closes Steps and Sidewalks

Beginning today Huntington Park and the Spokane Tribal Gathering Place plaza will be closed for the season.

Beginning today Huntington Park and the Spokane Tribal Gathering Place plaza will be closed for the season.

Unseasonal and frigid weather has forced the closure for safety reasons.

Here are the locations closing today:

  • Huntington Park
  • Spokane Tribal Gathering Place
  • Veteran’s Court steps
  • Conservation area steps
  • Lilac Bowl steps

Originally these locations were scheduled to close October 31, but a decision was made to leave the park, plaza and steps open because the weather was so mild. But that all ended with this giant deep freeze we’ve been experiencing.
