City of Spokane Parks and Recreation Division security officers are conducting targeted patrols at Manito Park.

The targeted patrols, which were initiated this week, demonstrate the City Parks and Recreation Division’s commitment to keeping City parks clean and safe.

Recently, the City received reports of vandalism and teens consuming alcohol in the Park. Attached is a photo example of the vandalism to the railing of the center fountain in Duncan Gardens, which will cost thousands of dollars to repair.

“We want to send the message loud and clear that we will not tolerate illegal activity in City Parks. Manito Park is our community treasure. It’s a safe and beautiful place for citizens to enjoy and we want to keep it that way,” said Parks Director, Leroy Eadie.

If you witness illegal activity in any City park, you are encouraged to report it to Crime Check at 509.456.2233.
