Park Board considers adoption of 2016 budget

The City of Spokane Park Board will consider the adoption of the proposed 2016 Parks and Recreation Division budget at the next Park Board meeting. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 8th at 1:30 pm, in the City Council Chambers of City Hall. Members of the community are invited to attend to hear the budget presentation and give feedback.

The 2016 budget was recommended for approval by the Park Board Finance Committee. Under the City Charter, Article V, Parks and Park Board, the approval of the Annual Parks and Recreation budget is under the control of the Park Board.

2016 Budget Highlights
 

Parks Operating Budget:

  • Increased FTE: 8.2 - 2 Security Officer Positions; 1 Accountant II; 1 Marketing/Communications Manager; 4 Accounting Positions moving to Parks Accounting; 2 Part Time positions increased to Full Time position (Clerk III)
  • Extended Restroom hours 
  • 2016 Affordable Care Act Expense added – Temporary Seasonal
  • Increased Capital Outlay
  • Increased Revenue – Waste Water MOU

Golf Operating Budget:

  • Increased Revenue due to Fee increase in 2016
  • Increased Marketing Expense
  • 2016 Affordable Care Act Expense added – Temporary Seasonal
