Parks and Recreation has re-opened the suspension pedestrian bridges in Riverfront Park. While enjoying incredible views of our river, please continue to use caution. The river remains closed to use.

The suspension bridges were closed last Tuesday, March 21 as part of the Mayoral declaration of an emergency with rising river levels and safety concerns.

All other pedestrian bridges remain open in Riverfront Park with the exception of the Howard Street Bridge South, closed until fall 2017 as part of redevelopment. Much of the southern portion of the park is under construction; an access map can be viewed on the redevelopment website, www.RiverfrontParkNow.com.

While visitors are on their way from downtown to view the river, we encourage them to look through the construction fence to see their new park taking shape. The Recreational Ice Ribbon and SkyRide facility, Howard Street Bridge South, and Looff Carrousel are all active construction sites. This portion of the new park will begin to open late fall 2017 with ice skating, the SkyRide and new bridge, followed soon after in early 2018 with the new Looff Carrousel facility.
