Dear golf community,

Our focus remains on supporting the health and well-being of our customers, staff, partners, and the community. Across the City of Spokane Parks & Recreation, are following the recommendations of Governor Inslee, President Trump, and the Spokane Regional Health District, in alignment with Mayor Woodward’s administration, to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Governor’s Emergency Proclamation

As you know, on March 16, Governor Inslee signed a Washington statewide emergency proclamation temporarily shutting down restaurants, bars, recreational and entertainment facilities until at least March 31. View the Governor’s infographic and additional details about what’s open/closed.

This proclamation allows golf to remain open, but is requiring a change to our operations.

Golf courses working to re-open as soon as possible

While our golf courses have been closed due to weather, we’re extending this closure time by a few days to allow our teams to set and implement social distancing and sanitation measures established by the CDC and the Washington State Department of Health, as required by Governor Inslee’s proclamation.

We want to ensure our operational plans are solid, so when you’re enjoying the game, we’re providing the safest environment possible. We’re also working with Spokane County on consistent plans.

Highlights will include increased frequency of cleaning, especially high-touch areas; social distancing protocols; and arranging payments via phone vs. at the counter when possible. More details about our operational changes will be forthcoming when finalized.

We will confirm opening dates in a follow-up notice.

Thank you for your role in supporting the health of our community.

When we re-open, we ask that participants please not attend golf facilities if you experience symptoms or have been in contact with someone experiencing symptoms; our staff will do the same.

Next steps

We will share opening dates for each of our four courses as they are confirmed. Thank you for supporting City of Spokane golf, and for your patience as we navigate COVID-19 as a community. As the situation and information evolves, we will continue to follow the recommendations of the Spokane Regional Health District, Governor Inslee, and President Trump in collaboration with the City of Spokane leadership. We remain committed to providing excellent customer service with safety at the forefront.
