Free swim at all City of Spokane Parks & Recreation aquatic centers is just around the corner! Pools open Monday, June 16, 2025.

The City operates six pools: A.M. Cannon, Shadle, Liberty, Witter, Hillyard, and Comstock.

Pool Hours

Visit SpokaneParks.org/aquatics for pool hours of operation.

SplashPass

Much like a library card, a SplashPass is your free pass to all City of Spokane aquatic centers. Admission to the pools is free, but a no-cost SplashPass is required for all ages. SplashPasses provide:

  • Free admission during open swim hours, plus family nights
  • Notification of pool events and closures (opt-out available)
  • Acknowledgement and acceptance of important pool rules that are in place for your safety

Ways to Get your SplashPass

Note: If you’ve had a SplashPass in previous years, there is no need to renew each year – you’re good to go! SplashPasses are completely digital, no card needed.

  • At all pools, during open hours
  • SpokaneParks.org/aquatics
  • Call 311 and press 3 (or call 509.755.2489)
  • Visit City Hall (808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.), Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

Registration takes less than 5 minutes. Parent/Guardian must sign the rules for children under 18.

Providing Free Swim

Since 2018, swimming has been free at all City pools (A.M. Cannon, Shadle, Liberty, Witter, Hillyard, and Comstock), paid for out of the Parks & Recreation fund. Free open swim reduces barriers and has increased open swim attendance. We have a goal of helping more kids learn to swim, so they have this important life skill and benefit from the health aspects of swimming.

Swim lessons, novice swim team, aquatics fitness programs, and pool rentals have affordable, family-friendly rates. Visit SpokaneParks.org/aquatics.

Swim Lessons & Free Clinics

Affordable swim lessons are available at all pools for a variety of ages and skills; private swim lessons are also offered. Free Swim Clinics are available this summer thanks to the Spokane Parks Foundation, for ages 3-15 on Saturdays, July 5, 12, 19, and 26. Preregistration is required. Register for free swim clinics.

Pool Parties

Neighborhood Pool Parties are sponsored by Providence, in partnership with Make a Splash and Spokane Parks & Recreation. 2025 Pool Parties are scheduled for 6:30 – 8 p.m.  at these locations:

  • Wednesday, July 9 – AM Cannon
  • Wednesday, July 23 - Hillyard
  • Thursday, August 7 - Liberty

Food at the Pools

Concessions are no longer offered at pools, as part of the cost savings that allowed us to provide free swim. Outside food and drinks are welcome inside the pool area, so pack a snack! Please no alcohol, glass containers, or BBQs.

Splash Pads

There are 19 splash pads across the city with a variety of amenities. Splash pads are free and open 9 A.M. – 8 P.M.

For updates on splash pad and pool temporary closures, or to report any issues, please call the aquatics hotline at 509.625.6960.
