SPD investigates fatal collision; 2 unrelated collisions

Spokane Police are on-scene investigating a fatal collision happening this afternoon at the intersection of Division and Crown.

Just after 1:45 p.m. officers responded to two unrelated, minor crashes in the same area (Division and Crown). Around the same time the driver of a car heading northbound crossed the center median on Division, hit another car head-on in the southbound lane and then hit a large pole nearby. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on scene.

All lanes of Division heading northbound are closed from Wellesley to Rowan. One lane of Division heading southbound is open. Lanes will remain blocked for another hour as SPD continues to investigate the incident.
