Join the Spokane Police Department in celebrating the successful conclusion of the first season of the Spokane Police Youth Athletic League (S.P.Y.A.L.) with a BBQ this Thursday, Aug 29th at 4 p.m. at Liberty Park (502 S. Pittsburg).

The Spokane Police Youth Athletic League (S.P.Y.A.L) is a partnership program developed this spring by Spokane community leaders and the Spokane Police Department to increase the level of respect, understanding, and goodwill between Spokane area community members, community leaders, and the Spokane Police Department.

After 10 weeks of playing basketball at Liberty Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., participating youth will receive bags of school supplies donated by the Spokane Police Guild and basketballs donated by the Spokane Police Lieutenants and Captains Association. A family BBQ will be provided after the ceremony, sponsored by the Spokane Law Enforcement Credit Union.
