Spokane Police arrest kidnapping suspect

Spokane Police arrest suspect in cross-state kidnapping incident after vehicle crash and pursuit. 34-year-old George E. Rosenbaum was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of 1st Degree Kidnapping and 1st Degree Robbery.

At approximately 11:30 am on Friday, 12/20, officers responded to a call of a person reporting they had been kidnapped in Sioux City, Iowa and driven back to Spokane. The victim reported being assaulted during the travel to Spokane. When they pulled into a Spokane gas station at 3rd/Thor, the victim was able to escape from the vehicle, run from the car and call 911.

Detectives and officers quickly responded to the scene and located the suspect vehicle. Officers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle by blocking traffic. The suspect fled. Officers pursued him briefly before he wrecked his car and fled on foot near Greene/Riverside. The suspect, identified as George E. Rosenbaum was arrested and booked into jail on charges of 1st Degree Kidnapping and 1st Degree Robbery.
