Mayor David Condon and Chief Frank Straub will announce the Spokane Police Department’s achievement of state accreditation through the Washington Association of Sheriff and Police Chiefs (WASPC). Accreditation was one of the recommendations from the Use of Force Commission.
Additionally, the Mayor, Chief and Executive Director of the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC), Sue Rahr, will announce the re-establishment of CJTC’s Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy in eastern Washington. CJTC's Basic Law Enforcement Academy will be conducted in collaboration with the Spokane Police Department.
