The Spokane Police Department still has open spots for youth participants for the Spokane Police Activities League (PAL). The opening ceremony is today at Liberty Park at 11:45 a.m.
The Spokane Police Activities League (PAL) engages youth in positive athletic, academic and community service programs in an effort to help secure their path to a successful, healthy adulthood. PAL also builds relationships between youth in our community and the Spokane Police Department.
The program was initiated in the spring of 2013 as a partnership program developed by Spokane community leaders (including Operation Healthy Family, Youth for Christ and Kingdom Fellowship Church Alliance) and the Spokane Police Department through the formation of a summer basketball league and related outreach activities. This year the program has grown to include disc golf in addition to basketball and other outreach activities.
Session dates and youth age groups are listed below:
All sessions are held at Liberty Park in Spokane. There are still openings for youth participants. Sign up to be part of PAL by visiting www.SpokanePAL.org, by calling Ofc. Jennifer DeRuwe at 509.209.7178, or sign up during today’s opening ceremony.
