Early Morning Altercation Downtown

A man is in critical condition after a fight between two people in downtown. The incident occurred near Sprague/Stevens just before 2:30 a.m. this morning.

This morning, 8/31/14, just before 2:30 a.m., Spokane Police patrol officers responded to the report of an assault in the area of Sprague/Stevens. Officers arrived on scene and medics were immediately called to treat one male who had been involved in the altercation and was unresponsive.

According to witnesses on the scene, the injured male walked out in front of a taxi and initiated a confrontation. What happened next is still under investigation by Spokane Police Major Crimes detectives, however at this time, no arrests have been made and all parties involved are accounted for.
