SPD Arrests Robbery Suspect

Spokane Police have arrested a suspect in a recent Robbery. Alan D. Jenks (31) was taken safely into custody after a brief standoff with SPD's Emergency Response Unit (ERU) this morning. Jenks was arrested for 1st Degree Robbery in connection to a Robbery that occurred on 12/8/14, at the Zip Trip on W. Northwest Blvd.

This morning, 12/11/14, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Spokane Police executed a search warrant at a home in the 2500 block of W. Grace. Major Crimes detectives developed information that the suspect in the 12/8/14 Robbery of the Cenex Zip Trip (located in the 2100 W. Northwest Blvd.) may be at the home on W. Grace.

Upon arrival at the home, detectives developed additional information that the suspect may be at another location, a home in the 2300 block of E. 7th. The Spokane Police Emergency Response Unit (ERU), Major Crimes detectives and Patrol officers responded to the location. The suspect, Alan D. Jenks (31), was located and taken safely into custody after a brief standoff. He was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Robbery.

Jenks is suspected of entering the W. Northwest Blvd. Cenex Zip Trip just after midnight on 12/8/14. Witnesses indicated Jenks showed a handgun, demanded beer and cash and left on foot. SPD Patrol officers and Major Crimes detectives investigated the incident, which ultimately led to today's arrest.
