The Spokane Police Department and Spokane’s new South Hill Target store will partner together tomorrow to host Heroes and Helpers. During this event, officers will be paired up with local children and given a $50 Target gift certificate (generously donated by Target) to shop for Christmas presents for their families.

Event date, time, location:

TOMORROW, December 14, 2014
8:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.
S. Regal Target Store
4915 S. Regal

More than a dozen officers will be participating, each paired with a child.

The number of child participants increased this year (beyond the amount allotted to receive $50 gift certificates donated by Target) and Spokane Police staff rallied together to donate funds so the additional children could participate.

The goal of this event is to foster positive and meaningful relationships between local children and law enforcement. One of the Spokane Police Department’s three main priorities is to engage with the community we serve. This event, along with other outreach initiatives (Spokane Police Activities League, the Youth and Police Initiative, etc.), emphasize the importance SPD places on community outreach.
