Spokane Police Arrest Suspect from May 26th North Monroe Homicide

Spokane Major Crimes Detectives, working with the Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force, have arrested a suspect in the May 26th homicide of Ceasar Medina at Northwest Accessories, 3400 N. Monroe. Jeremiah A. Smith (25) was taken into custody without incident tonight at approximately 7:00pm at a residence in the 7900 block of east Euclid.

Spokane Police Major Crimes detectives, working with the Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force, following investigative leads have arrested a suspect in the May 26th homicide at 3400 N. Monroe. Twenty-five year old Jeremiah A. Smith was taken into custody without incident in the 7900 block of east Euclid just after 7:00pm, tonight, June 4, 2015. He was booked into Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Murder, 1st Degree Robbery, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Officers are currently executing a search warrant at the residence where Smith was arrested.

Spokane Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred just after midnight near the intersection of Courtland/Cora. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Just after midnight, May 26, 2015, Spokane Police responded to a report of a shooting at Northwest Accessories in the 3400 block of north Monroe. It appears the shooting occurred inside the business. Officers stopped a vehicle leaving the area that contained three people including the victim. Life-saving measures were employed at the scene, but the victim did not survive his injuries. The two other people were interviewed by investigators and released. The medical examiner will be releasing the deceased name at a later time.

Witnesses described the shooting suspect as a black male, approximately 5’9”, thin build with short, curly hair, wearing a grey shirt. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Crime Check at 509.456.2233
