Early this morning, 06/06/14 at 12:45 a.m., Spokane PD responded to a single vehicle collision near Sunset Ave and Government Way. The road was blocked for several hours and power pole was damaged during the collision. The driver, and sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation to the cause of the collision is continuing.

The driver’s identity and cause of death will be released by the Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office.

Approximately two hours later Spokane PD responded to a serious injury collision involving a pedestrian near Nevada St and Queen Ave. The first responders believed the pedestrian was suffering from life threatening injuries. Streets were blocked off for several hours in this location as well. The pedestrian’s injuries were upgraded to non-life threatening injuries at the hospital.
