The Spokane Police Department assisted the Spokane Fire Department with two, apparently related, arson incidents in the area of Hamilton/Baldwin. Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call Crime Check at 509.456.2233.

Just after 3:30am this morning, 08/05/2015, the Spokane Fire Department responded to the report of a vehicle fire in the 1100 block of E. Baldwin. Once on scene, crews were able to determine the fire was intentionally set. The vehicle was a total loss, but there were no injuries reported.

Approximately 10 minutes later another fire call came in. This one reportedly started in a garbage can in the alley between 900 block of E. Baldwin and Ermina and spread to a nearby fence, trees and other structures in the alley. Patrol officers with the assistance of a K9 responded to the area to search for possible suspects, but none were located at the time.

This investigation by Spokane Fire is ongoing and will include the review of any surveillance footage in the area. Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call Crime Check at 509.456.2233.
