Just before 2 o’clock p.m. this afternoon a citizen reported finding a deceased person in a vacant lot in the 1300 block on North Wall.

Patrol officers located the deceased male, who appeared to be in his 40’s. The scene was secured and Major Crimes Detectives responded.

Any time there is an unattended death, the Spokane Police Department treats the investigation as a homicide until proven otherwise. Currently, Spokane Police Department Major Crimes detectives and Forensic personnel are investigating and documenting the scene. Once the scene is processed, the body will be removed by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased person at a later date.
