Spokane Police Major Crimes Detectives are investigating a shooting death at a residence in the 6500 block of north Assembly. Preliminary indications are that a resident in the home shot what they believed to be an intruder.

The Spokane Police Division responded to the report of shots fired in the 6500 block of north Assembly tonight, Jan. 30, 2016, just after 10:00pm. A female called to say her husband had shot an intruder. Officers arriving on scene found a male with an apparent gunshot wound at the front of the house and immediately began lifesaving measures. That male later succumbed to his injuries.
