Vehicle Prowler Booked for 2nd Assault after Pulling Knife on Victim

Spokane Police Officers responded to the area of Cochran and Dean last night on the report of a vehicle prowling in progress. An alert neighbor saw the suspect, Kyle J. Runge (19), rummaging through the victim’s car. When confronted by the victim, Runge pulled out a knife and threatened the victim allegedly saying, “I’ll take a life.”

Last night, Feb. 17, 2016, just before 7:00pm, Spokane Police patrol officers responded to the area of Cochran St. and Dean Ave. on the report of a vehicle prowling victim following a suspect. The victim’s vigilant neighbor saw a suspect, later identified as Kyle Runge, rummaging through his vehicle. The neighbor alerted the victim who then started following Runge. Once the victim caught up to Runge, Runge displayed a knife and threatened the victim saying, “I’ll take a life.”

Officers were in the area within minutes and located Runge in the 2300 block of west Broadway. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into Spokane County Jail for 2nd Degree Assault.

 

Runge had just been released on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016 after SPD officers booked him that same day for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
