Spokane Police Investigating Shooting Downtown

The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting in the 400 block of south Maple. Officers responded to that area after receiving a call of a shooting. A male was found with an apparent gunshot wound at the scene.

Tonight, April 18, 2016, just before 9:00pm, Spokane Police Patrol Officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 400 block of south Maple. Responding officers discovered an injured male with an apparent gunshot wound and immediately rendered medical aid to him. His injuries appear to be non-life threatening. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The suspect description is currently being developed through witness interviews.

From witness statements it appears the victim and suspect knew each other and we do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community.
