Suspect Arrested after Stabbing Downtown

One victim was transported to and area hospital after a stabbing on S Browne St near Pacific Ave. Michael R. Anderson (53) was arrested and booked into Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Assault.

On 05-11-16 at approximately 11:02PM, SPD received a report of a stabbing near Browne St and Pacific Ave. Officers were on scene in just over two minutes and located a subject in the roadway. Officers immediately began providing first aid to the victim. The male was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries consistent with a stab wound. 

Multiple people in the area are currently being interviewed by Officers. There does not appear to be an on-going threat to the public. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call crime check at 509-456-2233. Browne St between Sprague and Pacific is currently closed and will likely remain closed for several hours.

Officers took Michael R. Anderson into custody for the assault. He will be in court today at 1:30pm.
