Major Crimes Investigating Bank Robbery Downtown

Spokane Police Major Crimes Detectives are investigating the robbery of the Washington Trust in the 700 block of west 2nd Ave. The incident occurred Monday afternoon. The suspect indicated in a note he had a handgun. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.

This afternoon, 09/12/2016, just after 4:30pm, Spokane Police received a report of a robbery at the Washington Trust located in the 700 block of west 2nd Ave. The suspect entered the business, handed a note to the teller and demanded money. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the robbery.

Officers arrived on scene within a minute of being dispatched, but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his 30’s, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a light blue, button up, long sleeve shirt, baseball cap, and blue jeans.

This investigation is ongoing. Officers and investigators have been collecting evidence at the scene and interviewing witnesses.
