Today September 26, just after 11:30AM, Spokane Police responded to reports of a vehicle vs motorcycle crash in the 500 block of E. Holland Ave. The motorcycle was headed westbound on E. Holland Ave., and struck the side of a passenger vehicle pulling out of a parking lot on the north side of the roadway. Spokane Fire Department and the Spokane Police Department responded to the scene, however the driver of the motorcycle died as a result of their injuries from the crash. Spokane Police contacted witnesses and the driver of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was cooperating with the investigation, and there was no indication impairment was a factor. The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit (MCU) crash investigators responded to the scene for the investigation. The roadway remained closed for several hours during their investigation. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Spokane Police would like to continue to remind drivers to be watchful for pedestrians, motorcycles, and bicyclists near the roadway. With the long summer and great weather many people have become accustomed to driving at increased speeds on our dry, clean, roads. Please help prevent crashes by being cautions of your speeds, and watching your surroundings.

Spokane Police ask any witnesses to the crash, who have not already been contacted, to call Crime Check at (509)456-2233.

The identity of the driver of the motorcycle and the cause of death will be released by the Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office.
