Fatality Crash at the Intersection of S. Howard St. and W. 1st Ave.

Saturday, November 11, at 10:45AM, Spokane Police and the Spokane Fire Department responded to the report of a vehicle vs pedestrian crash in the 100 block of S. Howard St. A car had backed over a male who was then pinned underneath the vehicle. Upon the arrival of the Spokane Police Officers and the Spokane Fire Department personnel, the victim was removed from underneath the vehicle. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he died as a result of his injuries from the crash. Spokane Police made contact with the driver and the passengers from the vehicle. All the involved parties have been accounted for. The roadway will remain closed for several hours while the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) and Crash Investigators conduct their investigation. It does not appear impairment was a factor in the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The identity of the victim and the cause of death will be released by the Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office.
