Male arrested for Domestic Violence Shooting. Victim Expected to Survive.

A female domestic violence victim was shot this morning in the area of 500 East Carlisle. The victim is being treated at an area hospital for what appears to be a non-life threatening injury.

On February 3rd, just after 10:30am, Spokane Police responded to the area of 500 E. Carlisle to a report of a shooting. A male, Danny R. Goodwin (27), and a female had been arguing in a residence and the female reported Goodwin choked her. Goodwin then shot the female.

The female was transported to an area hospital for her injury which appears to be non-life threatening.

Goodwin and the female have a relationship that qualifies for the domestic violence protection act.

Detectives from Major Crimes sought a search warrant for the residence and will process the scene with the Forensics unit.

Goodwin was arrested and booked for one count of Assault 1st degree (Domestic Violence) and one count of Assault 2nd degree (Domestic Violence).

If you are a victim of domestic violence or know someone who is, report the assault to the police and reach out for help with a domestic violence advocate at the YWCA. Together we will work to end the silence.
