At about 21:36 hours on Tuesday, 4-24-18, a citizen called 911 to report an auto/pedestrian collision at 3rd Avenue & Perry Street, which runs along the south side of I-90.
Officers and fire fighters arrived on scene and determined the male that had been struck was deceased. The female driver and her vehicle remained on scene. She was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment as the investigation continues.
SPD Major Crimes was called out to oversee the collision investigation, which is standard procedure in fatality collisions.
Names are currently not being released due to the ongoing investigation and notification of next of kin. The intersection and surrounding streets will remain closed for the next several hours.
This is a reminder to be vigilant and alert while driving. Remember people are out on foot and bicycles, especially as the weather gets nicer and warmer.
