Satuday, April 28 at 6:41am Spokane police patrol officers were dispatched on a Domestic Violence with a Weapon call in the 1600 block of East Nebraska. Callers reported seeing a male and female in an argument and the male assaulted the female. Callers then reported the male ran after the vehicle the female was leaving in and fired several gun shots at the vehicle. The callers gave a description of the male and the direction he was last seen.
Responding patrol officers arrived in the area shortly after the call and located a male leaving the area that matched the suspect description in the 1000 block of East Rowan. The suspect refused to comply with several commands given by officers and SWAT officers responded to assist. A distraction device which causes a loud noise was used and the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect was not injured in this incident and was identified as Kevin O’Quinn a 45 year old male.
Major crimes detectives responded to the scene and are handling the investigation. Investigators are still searching for the female victim but do not believe her to be seriously injured from information obtained at this point. Investigators developed probable cause to charge Kevin O’Quinn for Domestic Violence Assault 1st degree and for two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon. Kevin O’Quinn was booked into the Spokane County Jail for the listed charges.
