A Spokane Police Department (SPD) Major Crimes investigation of a deceased infant leads to the arrest of 33 year old Erik G. Sherman. An infant had been taken to an area hospital on August 7th, 2018 in critical condition and eventually died from injuries.
On August 7th, 2018, an infant in critical condition was brought to an area hospital. Despite medical efforts, the infant passed away. SPD patrol officers began an investigation and notified the Major Crimes Unit.
The lead Detective developed probable cause to arrest Sherman for Homicide by Abuse.
On the afternoon of August 16th, 2018, Major Crimes Detectives and Targeted Crimes Detectives located Sherman and took him into custody. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail for Homicide by Abuse.
