The Spokane Police Department is hosting a “Citizens Academy”, at the Spokane Police Academy and you are invited!

The Spokane Police Department is hosting a “Citizens Academy” this September 7th at the Spokane Police Academy. The day encompasses classes, discussions and demonstrations covering topics relevant to policing in our community today. The topics include use of force, patrol procedures, internal affairs investigations, SWAT, K9 and many more. Participants will be able to go through the use of force simulators and get access to policing and training that is not always readily available to the public.

This is open to any of our citizens looking to connect with or learn more about the Spokane Police Department and Policing in our community. If you are interested or want more information RSVP no later than September 3rd to Holly Hocking: hhocking@spokanepolice.org or call 509.742.8100. There are still openings but they will fill up fast so don’t wait.

The academy is located at 2302 N Waterworks St. Spokane WA 99212, the training will start at 9 a.m. and go to 5 p.m. To reach the academy just head North on N. Waterworks St. from Trent Ave, and follow the road as it heads north and then east. It will end at the academy gate.

Come visit us at the Spokane Police Academy and take advantage of this great opportunity. This will take place at the actual police training center where we train the new police recruits in the Washington State Criminal justice Training Commission Basic Academy and continue to provide training to our department and law enforcement officers from our region and from across the nation.
