The Spokane Police Department and the Spokane Fire Department responded to a vehicle vs power pole crash in the 200 block of West Queen Avenue. The vehicle took out two power poles and ended up in the front yard of a residence. The driver was arrested for DUI.
On 09/07/2019, at about 2054 hours, the Spokane Police Department and the Spokane Fire Department responded to a vehicle vs power pole crash in the 200 block of West Queen Avenue. Witness on-scene stated the vehicle was going about 80 MPH before striking two power poles and ending up in the front yard of a residence.
The single driver, identified as 50 year old Allen Taylor was contacted on-scene. Allen was not injured but was showing signs of impairment. Allen was eventually arrested for DUI. Drugs and alcohol appeared to have been a factor in the crash.
Fortunately no one was injured in the crash. Avista arrived on-scene and repaired the damage to the power poles.
In 2017, the Spokane Police Department started a DUI Enforcement Team. This team includes 2 full time Officers. The Spokane Police Department would encourage you If you see someone driving reckless or suspect someone may be driving under the influence, call crime check at 509-456-2233 and report it.
