DV Unit Asking for Public's Help

Update:

On March 13, 2020 Officers from the Spokane Police Department responded to the apartments at 1935 N Holy Names Ct. A press release was sent out earlier in the day asking for the public’s help in locating Charles Washington. He was wanted in connection to a violent, Domestic Violence incident the previous night. Within a very short time of the press release being sent out, an alert citizen called in saying that they saw Washington at the apartment complex.

Officers responded to the location and surrounded the apartment. On duty SWAT Officers responded to assist due to Washington’s violent history and potentially being armed. Washington eventually walked out of the apartment and cooperated. He was booked into jail for charges related to the assault the previous night. He also had a felony warrant for his arrest for vehicular assault.

Washington has 13 previous convictions.

4 felony convictions include: Vehicular assault, 3rd degree assault, possession with intent to deliver drugs and Forgery.

His 9 misdemeanor convictions include: 3 counts of Driving while license suspended, reckless driving, DUI, driving without an ignition interlock device, malicious mischief, assault and trespassing.

The Spokane Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit is asking for the public’s help in locating Charles Washington. We ask the public to please contact Law Enforcement immediately if you see him or know of his whereabouts. Do not attempt to contact him yourself.

On March 12th Washington attacked his victim in front of her children in violation of an existing protection order. He fled prior to police arrival and may be trying to leave our region. The SPD DV unit has probable cause to arrest Washington for the following crimes;

First Degree Burglary - DV

Second Degree Assault – DV

Second Degree Malicious Mischief– DV

Felony Domestic Violence Order of Protection Violation

Third Degree theft
