Spokane Experiences Another Homicide

This morning, May 20, 2020, around 7:30 AM, a Spokane Police Officer was contacted at the Downtown Precinct by a male stating he had been involved in a homicide and wanted to turn himself in. Officers went to an apartment building in the area of 200 W. Sprague Avenue. The officers located a deceased male inside one of the apartments.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Cameron J. Walker, was detained. The scene was secured and Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to continue the investigation.

Preliminary information led to probable cause to arrest Walker for Murder 1st Degree. He was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail.

This investigation is ongoing as Detectives, with assistance from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Forensic Unit, process the scene for evidence.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased at a later date when appropriate.
