Shooting Sends Man to Hospital

Update 10/2/2020:

On October 1, 2020, around 5:45 p.m., Miroslav Veselinovic (33) was taken into custody as a result of the N. Market Street shooting investigation.  Detectives identified him as the suspect and had probable cause to arrest him for Assault 1st degree.

Veselinovic was located, in a residence, in the area of 3700 E. Fairview Avenue.

With the assistance SPD Patrol, SWAT, the Patrol Anti-Crime Team (PACT), the Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT) and the Explosive Device Unit (EDU), Veselinovic was taken into custody without incident.

Veselinovic was booked into the Spokane County Jail for Assault 1st degree.

Original Release 10/1/2020:

A shooting yesterday evening sent a man to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Yesterday, September 30, 2020, around 7:45 p.m., Spokane Police Officers responded to a shooting with a victim in the area of 2600 N. Market Street. The suspect had driven away prior to officers arriving on scene.

Once on scene, Officer Richmond provided immediate first aid to the victim until medics arrived and took over medical care. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Officers collected evidence from the scene and attempted to locate the suspect. It appears the victim and suspect are known to each other. A vehicle of interest was seized during the investigation.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) assisted officers last night and will seek a search warrant to look for evidence in the seized vehicle.
